A dimensional Alabama White facade at civic scale
The Saban Center's March 2026 milestone report describes a 118,000-square-foot marble-clad learning campus in Tuscaloosa's River District, designed by Steinberg Hart with Davis Architects and planned to open in 2027.
Alabama Marble Company team project records identify the exterior stone as approximately 45,000 square feet of 4-inch-thick Alabama White Marble. The construction photographs below document installation progress across the curved woven elevations and central tower.
Presented as an independent material precedent, the project shows how Alabama White can be developed into a contemporary exterior system. No current Alabama Marble Company supply role is claimed on this page.
For a new exterior project, the useful lesson is the coordination behind the expression: source range, module dimensions, finish, anchoring, fabrication tolerances, mock-up approval and release sequence all need to align.
