Project Overview

One material across varied residential applications

Broadwest is a 1.2-million-square-foot mixed-use development in Nashville, Tennessee. Its residential program includes 196 luxury residences, with Crème Extra used in selected kitchens and bathrooms.

The stone is used across waterfall islands, countertops, tile backsplashes, floors, wall panels and showers. Repeating one material through different formats gives the interiors continuity while allowing each application to respond to its own scale and fabrication requirements.

Material supply for this scope was led by the principal now directing Alabama Marble Company.

This record is useful at the start of a new project because it shows how a light natural stone can carry from large focal elements to smaller field applications. Final material selection should still be based on current samples, approved range expectations, finish, fabrication details and the conditions of the intended installation.

Range, layout and fabrication matter together

A project may use the same named material in a large island, a thin backsplash and a shower wall, but each condition reveals the stone differently.

  • Review representative samples for the current available range.
  • Coordinate slab or cut-to-size selection with finished dimensions.
